Graham Hyson and Little Buddy
Graham Hyson has been working at the Westin Nova Scotian for 15 years and over those 15 years, he has touched a lot of lives with his kindness. The most recent recipient of Graham’s compassion is a little 4-month-old kitten he named ‘Little Buddy’.
Among Graham’s many duties at the Halifax hotel, he takes care of the grounds. While outside cleaning up the parking lot Thursday morning, Graham found ‘Little Buddy’ cold, dirty and cornered by 3 crows. Graham came to his rescue and brought the kitten to the vet for a full check-up…at his own expense. We sat down with Graham in the maintenance office and was able to get his story on video.
Graham has a heart of gold and is known around the Westin Nova Scotian for always lending a hand and giving back. His homemade bread and strawberry jam are the first to sell when we hold bake sale fundraisers for the IWK Children’s Hospital and he is quick to participate in every event we have to raise money for charity. Graham shows the same care & concern for his fellow associates and our hotel guests. Thank you Graham!
Mike Vasseur from banquets at Halifax conference hotel was quick to start a "Cash for Kitties" donation bin to help for the costs associated with Little Buddy's vet bill. So far, Mike and the hotel have raised over $100 to help Graham and the kitten. Thank you to Mike and associates for your kindness.
